Thank you for the music...

Okay, it did almost sound too good to be true. And I think it was. Yesterday I read about the restrictions coming up on Spotify next week. I can understand many of the problems the Spotify crew must have gone through. But this could have been the future for the starving record business. Here you could listen to a record you might not even pay attention to for free. Instead of going for an illegal download. Further more, the artist DID get paid, not in full, but at least some form of payment took place, even thought it's not much, it's more than nothing.

I think people will return to their old habits of download. It's a shame really. We'll see how many tracks I will have left on my playlist next week. I guess I'm gonna return to
LastFM. At least Megahype struck a deal with Spotify.

You can read all about it here:

It's a shame... Really.

I've never been much for downloads. I'm still buying records. I still buy vinyl records! But I must say, Spotify was a great company at work, considering iTunes won't work on my laptop after the new Office update. *sigh*

Doctor doctor...

"Can't you see I'm burning, burning..."

Yeah well, from this sappy Thompson Twins song to real life. The flu of 2009 really sunk it's teeth into me. Jesper was actually visiting this weekend. I had to stay very still. I'm just glad he had more than a diversion! ;) I'm really happy for you mate. Next time, I promise I won't be at 25% lung capacity.

I had to go to the doctor today. It's not pneumonia, but very very close to it. No wonder I'm feeling like the last chicken in the shop. I got a bunch of stuff to recover. Very nice doctors too, and just right across my street. Now I have to rest my voice for a few days. (Doctor's orders). I'm not allowed to speak unless.. Well, in a situation of life and death, I guess it would be ok. I'm staying home tomorrow. I can write my scripts from here anyway.

Changing subject.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There was a reason I didn't go to your funeral. You do know that, right? I'm so sorry I couldn't be there. I really really tried, but I just couldn't. I was too sick. I wish I would have been there with the rest of your friends and family. I heard it was beautiful. I'm gonna miss you. I'll never forget you. I'm not anrgy anymore. I'm just sad it ended this way.

Take care mate. I'll see you later. Much later...

Waiting.

Finally it's done. Obama swore the oath and is now the President of the United States Of America. I think you'll do wonders. At least I hope so. This historic moment can not be denied some thought. I think the Americans did chose wisely for once. And I'm pretty sure the rest of the world agrees, he is the best thing that could happen to The US right now.

Good luck mate! The world is hopeful!

TV3 in Sweden celebrated by running Indepencence Day tonight! That's pretty weird, or clever. Not really sure. Just a strange pick if you ask me. A movie about aliens invading the earth on the brink of Obamas greatest success? C'mon! It's pretty hilarious, right?

My flu isn't giving in. And everything tastes strange. The cough is worst. Ah well... It'll pass!

In a hole

I've been struck by the flu of 2009. Damn it hurts. However, it didn't stop me from going to Pet Sounds last night for the Music quiz. Last time, we finished in 13th place. Our goal for last night was to improve, and we did. We finished 12th out of 38 finishing teams. Not too bad. I'm pretty happy with the result. I can't say I remember too much of it though. I do remember freezing my ass off, while waiting for the tube at slussen. I also remember falling asleep on my sofa when I got home.

My head hurts. I need to go home.

Bridge over troubled water.

I got some new dvds while I was back in Kalmar. I just love some of this cheap stuff you can get. I have a thing for classic movies like A bridge too far.

An historic telling of the failed attempt to capture several bridges to Germany in World War II in a campaign called Operation Market-Garden.

 Just look at the cast:

Dirk Bogarde, Michael Caine, James Caan, Sean Connery, Elliott Gould, Gene Hackman, Anthony Hopkins, Laurence Olivier, Robert Redford, Maximilian Schnell and Liv Ullman.

Not too bad... I remember watching this on SVT a long time ago. It's not as fantastic as I remember, but it's certainly worth watching if you're into stuff like this.

Someone like you...

So, it's a new year. It's gotta be better than the ending of the last one. I'm not saying it was all bad. Just the ending of it.

Luckily, new year's eve was really nice.

Some pics from the new shitty camera in the Nokia E71.

This one says it all... Right? ;)

From last nights quiz at Wirströms. Me, Johan and Emma got 32 of 32 on the first part of the quiz. Not too bad... The rest, well, never mind. ;)

At least we got both anagrams correct. UP ANAL STYLE and GENITAL ITCH APPEARS. Next thursday, we're off to Pet Sounds Bar for the impossible popquiz....
